Circus

The Rambo circus had come to the city and I was looking forward for a chance to visit the circus and the chance came sooner than I had thought...
The circus began with the welcome music played by the circus band. The foot tapping music was to accompany throughout the circus.
The trapezes climbed up the tall ladders and began flying in air. They performed wonderful acrobatics as they swung in air. The lights went dim and the trapezes in shiny and flour-scent costumes put up a sparkling show. What is circus without clowns? At the end of the trapeze show the clown pajamas came off in air and down fell the clown into the net and next his pajamas. The audience burst into laughter...
Next our attention drew to the motor cyclist in the death sphere. First he swung from side to side and then increased the speed of the motor cycle such that he was riding in a vertical circle. The show was breathtaking...
Next up was my favorite the animal show... Four elephants on all four sides gave a welcome salute with trunks and with the front feet lifted in air!!! They played bat and ball for a while. In the dog show the dogs rolled the drum with their paws. Soon the king of the jungle came out of the cage and obeyed the commands of the ringmaster and jumped through the rings. Next the horse rider performed acrobats on running horse. The parrot and other birds swung on the swings and danced on the see saw to commands.
The clowns joined in the hula hooping and juggled up their hats. And when it was time to leave the emotional clown started weeping with water sprouting from the nose like fountain... we were laughing...
Then followed the fire eating show and we watched spellbound...
Young girls performed acrobats while riding on a bicycle...
The clowns in trying to imitate ended up with the bicycle flying into parts...
The wrestler next lay on the ground with a pair of wooden boards atop and the entire jeep drove over him...we were aghast ...till the wrestler jumped up unharmed.
The circus ended up with the stilt walking show.
I was munching popcorn ans sipping cold drinks all the while hoping the circus would never end...This is all for now ... more when I get to see the next circus...

Fun Fete'

It  was our hostel fun fete' day and we had to come up with games for the fete'...
Girls were paired up and teams in twos had two hours to come up with games.
I made a huge mickey mouse face and hung it up with a pole. One had to
throw ping pong balls into the mouth. No cheating and I swear my mickey
mouse was smiling wide enough to allow the balls to pass through easily...
Now as regards the other games let me tell you in more details...
In the coconut shy game we had to balance the coconut with the help
of a pole. Watch out your heads!!! In the classic hoopla game one had to
ring a gift of your choice like cuddly soft toys, soft drink bottles, chocolate
and biscuit packs and more... In the quoits game the rope quoits were
made to ring the wooden stake. Well I guess nothing was obeying the
Newtons laws ... In the tin can alley game a huge pyramid of tins was to
be blown down by throwing balls ...three rounds I guess... In the darts
game one had to throw darts at the dart board and aim for higher score
on the dart board. In the brick game a red brick is soaked in a bucket
of water and the player has to lift the brick with two fingers for a specific
time. In the key game one had to move the key from one end to the other
without touching the wire. In the magnet game one had to slide the metal
wire up the cardboard with the help of a magnet on the other side. In the
blind man's buff the player is blind folded and expected to tail a donkey drawing.
In shave the balloon game the balloon is smeared with soap froth and one
has to shave it clean without bursting the balloon. In the candles game
one has to blow off all the candles in one go...In coin the coin game
one had to place a coin on top of coin placed in turbulent water tub.
One has to spin the wheel of fortune to complete a task to win a prize
In the fishing game one had to fish out all of the thermocol balls with
the help of a sieve within the stipulated time. There was also the fortune
tellers globe and cards. What fair would be complete without the raffle
drum? People pay to get a ticket number and then if their number is
pulled from the raffle drum they win a prize!
All this and to go along were stalls of popcorn, ice-cream, chips,
chocolate and more... My game won the third prize in the popular
games category. O I just can't wait for the next fun fete'...

It was my birthday yesterday and guess what was the birthday treat? Well,
a Magic Show...
The magic wand created quite a bit of magic. First it went on flames that
transformed into a  pigeon which he placed inside a cage which he opened
and the pigeon disappeared. Next the wand disappeared totally and became an
umbrella right in the hands of the magician.
The magician then placed his magic hat upside down on a table and
pulled out a rabbit with its ears from the hat.
The magic robe that the magician was wearing was quite a wonder...
He put a set of multicolored hankies one by one into empty pockets
and pulled out a garland of hankies right in front of our eyes. He also
drew coins, ping pong balls, cards from empty pockets and also
from mouth, nose, ears of a kid.
He made a lady disappear and "abracadabra" reappear in the
other corner of the stage. He also shrunk the lady to the size of
a dwarf and made her do a puppet dance in a trance.
The lady then lied down inside a wooden trunk. the magician
then closed the lid and sawed through the wooden chamber and
reshuffled the compartments and when he opened the lid, out
jumped the lady, all smiling.
Have you wondered how objects are levitated without the use
of strings. The magician made the lady lie on the floor and
covered her with a blanket and soon to the sound of the flute
the lady rose about two feet in air. He also moved a sword
beneath her. Now that's what I call magic!
He burnt a currency note and from the ashes "lo and behold"
showered notes. Vow, what a way to become a millionaire! The pack
of cards became a fan and from a scarf he pulled out about a dozen
umbrellas one after the other and soon it was raining umbrellas!
Life is full of magic tricks! At times you get tricked by magic
and at times you trick magic into life. How I wish that the magic
wand could turn all my days into birthdays!!!
